The elegant Velours club in the glamourous Aoyama district, where Tokyo’s most fashionable addresses are lining up, was crowded to bursting with invited guests and VIPs, who expected the first SPOT ON WIEN Night Event focusing on Austrian fashion and electronic music. The guests were received by the sounds of DJ Tom Wieland aka 7 Samurai’s eclectic Jazz-Waltz-Mix specifically compiled for this evening. Then, the “Fashion Shooting” kicked off pointing the flashlights on the collection by Ali Zedtwitz, for the first time in Tokyo. The models showed contoured silhouettes and a more vanguard look highlighting bright colors and interesting accessories.

Under the title “A Journey of Dance“, the second SPOT ON WIEN Night brought two modern dance performances to Club Super DeLuxe. Both the fashion-world inspired “Look Look“ and the video & art performance “One Hour Standing For“ were applauded by the audience, before electronic music heralded the second part of the night. Elektro Guzzi offered one one of the trio’s magic, jazz-influenced live sets. Ogris Debris reappeared one day later with another of their charming shows, before the DJs BNCKD and 7 Samurai took over, presenting their soulful mixture of house and disco to rock the club, visually supported by colourful motion graphics by Vienna-based design studio Strukt.

Get style inspired at the fashion shows of emerging label DIPTYCH and designer Ali Zedtwitz, both presenting their collection for the first time in Tokyo as well as headwear by MÜHLBAUER and jewellery by AND_I.

ALI ZEDTWITZ // fashion
After graduating in June 2008 under professor Véronique Branquinho at the Fashion Department/University of Applied Arts Vienna, Ali Zedtwitz designed a collection exclusively for the Swedish label “Weekday”. In 2009 Zedtwitz founded together with Valerie Lange the label DIPTYCH. The styling of the diploma collection for the show in Tokyo was especially created by the Austrian fashion designer Kathrin Lugbauer of the label “Natures of Conflict”. It features pieces from Austrian designers such as “House Of The Very Islands”, Valerie Lange, “Fabrics Interseason”, Kathrin Lugbauer, Radic/Morger and “Awareness & Conciousness”

Ali Zedtwitz will showcase her collection at the SPOT ON WIEN - FASHION SHOOTING on 2nd of November in Club Velours.

MÜHLBAUER // headwear
In 1903 Julianna Mühlbauer opened a small millinery with a shop attached in Vienna. 100 years later the 4th generation, Klaus and Marlies Mühlbauer, established the company as one of the leading addresses for headwear worldwide. Lately in demand again as a major fashion accessory, most of MÜHLBAUER hats leaving the Viennese workshop are destined for international fashion temples, finding their way onto the heads of opinion leaders like Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Yoko Ono or Japanese rock band Quru.

DIPTYCH // fashion
Valerie Lange and Ali Zedtwitz met during their studies at the university of applied arts in Vienna. In 2005, professor Raf Simons, asked the two to join his team as junior designers at Jil Sander in Milan. Being friends they found out that working together is a lot of fun. In March 2009 Lange and Zedtwitz finally decided to found DIPTYCH. Work and inspiration is led by coincidence, feelings and mood, decisions are taken spontaneously and incoherently. Their first collection will be presented in Tokyo at the FASHION SHOOTING of SPOT ON WIEN.
